Tornadoes can come in many shapes, but are typically in the form of a visible condensation funnel, with the narrow end touching the earth. Often, a cloud of debris encircles the lower portion of the funnel.

Tonight’s “20/20? takes a look back at the Parkersburg, Iowa tornado of May 25, 2008. One of my friends, a storm chaser named Ben McMillan, was one of the first people on the scene after the tornado decimated the town. He’s one of the people talked to in the show.20/20 airs tonight at 9pm on ABC - just make sure you change the channel back to 13 afterwards for 13News 10 at 10!
