Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese avant-garde fashion designer. His own line is quite popular in Tokyo, but his collaborations with other companies, from Adidas to Hermes, have helped to make him a household name.

After showing a collection seemingly geared to keep retailers happy, Yohji Yamamoto filed for bankruptcy today, which would explain this season’s (relative) lack of risk-taking.
