Free bonus for new reviewed DirecTV HR23 hd dvr receiver

Looks great, 2009 has been a busy year for DirecTV, yet it and dvr families keep growing at a seemingly non-stop pace. many of DBSTalk's Cutting Edge members were extended a chance by DirecTV to field test the newest member of the HR family - the DirecTV HR23. Outwardly theDirecTV HR23 retains the now familiar styling of its predecessors, but that is where the likeness ends. The DirecTV HR23 includes enhancements directly supporting ongoing hardware initiatives like the SWM ODUs, At the same time, recording capacity has been increased to take virtue the contemporary HD growth. In short, the DirecTV HR23 is quiet and looks good, has one step less on the install, and naturally, who does not like further recording space? And in that spirit, DBSTalk presents a first observe the DirecTV.

Specials and bonuses: DirecTV HR23

The menus, guides and the programming of DirecTV HR23 appear a little sharper than other DVRs. The guide and menus are laid out the same as other DirecTV DVRs. The sound output by the DirecTV HR23 clearly has gotten a bit louder and arguably clearer.
After setting up your 'Series Links" and recording your favourite shows, you will begin to notice that your playlist will have a higher share of space available. This is due to the inclusion of a 500GB drive. My feeling is that it feels like I am able to record twice as many shows/movies as I was on my HR20-700. With the last HD channels that were broadcast with MPEG2 compression now being broadcast with MPEG4 compression, this will make allowance for an extra incremental increase in the programs that may be recorded (assuming you record the former MPEG2 channels ) .
The majority of the time the DirecTV HR23 appears to run as fast (if not quicker ) than my HR20-700. However, there are moments where the menu and guide navigation drag a bit. It is a reasonably bet that DirecTV will continue to improve both performance and functionality through Cutting Edge updates.
In general, the DirecTV HR23 is highly recommended for anyone looking to add a new DVR. I would also endorse this DVR DirecTV HR23 for anyone that wants to extend their storage as compared to their current DVR. When you compare the costs of adding an ESATA drive to other lower capacity DVRs and the fact that you lose the storage capacity of your internal drive, the DirecTV HR23 is an excellent cost effective option.
Not even two full months after DirecTV's HR22 started filtering out to eager users, in flies a first look at the forthcoming DirecTV HR23. But don't worry -- there aren't too many differences here. It looks as if the HDD of the HD DVR is the same size as that in the HR22, with the big changes being some cosmetic tweaks and internal swaps that would amount to better picture standard. DirecTV released the DirecTV HR23 receiver as a new revolutionary release to beat competition, an update to the present HR2x series.
The enhancements are:
The tuners are BBC / SWM switching, endorsing the BBC ( tiny converter box hooked to the satellite input) is not required. The receiver detects if the conversion is obligatory, or if the users have an SWM switch immediately. This same technology was recently added to the H23 non-dvr receiver. The drive is 500gb, rather than 320gb. Resulting in almost double the storage ( because 50gb is reserved for D* recordings ( ppv/showcases ) on either drive).
