Graco Classic Wood Highchair- Pros and Cons

Chairs are not only useful as part of furniture but it can also be an excellent stuff for babies. That is why parents of all ages see to it that quality high chairs should be made available to their children.

I admire this product because it is cushioned, wipe clean seat pad, 3-point harness and a clear dishwasher-safe. It also shows off a pull-out tray insert that protects the wood finish. You can also take off the seat pad and change it to a smaller snack tray as your baby grows. This now turns into a toddler chair. The older kids can also make use of it when reaching the dinner table or doing homework on the kitchen counter.


But very importantly, the Graco Classic Wood Highchair can be very striking because of its high-quality construction and unique design. You can also enjoy the chair's removable plastic tray cover because it protects the wood without hiding it.

* It is a well-built wooden high chair, easy to assemble and eye-catching. The back is also curved.

* In actual, the seat cushion is prettier to look at compared to the picture. The cushion looks like they are tied because the ties snap on. Until now, I haven't washed it yet because the small spills wipe off easily. Further, the harness is also washable.

* The plastic tray cover is also removable and nice-looking. Though it is safe for dishwasher, you can also hand wash it. If you want to use the tray without the plastic cover, you may also add a layer of clear coat.


There are also some disadvantages of this chair. These are the following:

* The crotch post does not allow for any adjustment to fit different-sized babies and the chair does not recline.

* Compared to highly rated plastic models (e.g. Fisher-Price Rainforest Highchair), it is also more expensive.

* Another shortcoming that I observed was the bar in the center between the child's legs. The design is wrong and it is not adjustable. It goes too far back in the seat. The screw covers need to be drilled and removed. I did not realize that it was also glued when I tried to pried it off. I had to use wood filler because it ended up peeling off a thin layer of wood and finish.

* At one point, the product description was confusing. It says that the chair can still be used for the toddler at a regular table when the snack tray is removed. But the chair's height is not adjustable. The toddler would have to do a lot of leaning so it cannot be used as a regular table. It can be used though for a counter or a breakfast bar.
