What is health and wellness?

In the last decade, the term "Health and Wellness" has become popularized to be a cliche category denoting nutritional products and non-FDA approved techniques. It's one of those divisive terms that create either people on one side or people on the other, and the sad truth is that the health and wellness mentality should be something everyone cares about and incorporates in their lives.

Today we have a mentality as a culture to evaluate all of our health problems through the "medical model" way of explanation. In the medical model, we wait until things are basically their worst and the body cannot deal with the problem anymore, and "fix" them by taking drugs and prescriptions. In this model the only ones who profit are the pharmaceutical businesses.

And that is why health and wellness need to be apart of everyone's life. In the health and wellness mentality, we maintain our bodies and our lives from ever becoming dependent on prescription drugs. Instead of "don't fix it if it ain't broke," we think, "keep it fixed so it don't break."
