Stamp of approval: fabulous scarves you can wear year-round
I know you know by now that I love handbags and shoes. But maybe you don’t know how much I love scarves.
There is something amazing about a great scarf. It can “wake up” your outfit without adding any jewelry, for those times when you want to look great sans bling. It can make a revealing top more modest, and more wearable. It can add a pop of color to a monocromatic outfit. And in the case of a really great scarf, it can actually be the “missing link” that changes an outfit from cute to fabulous.
I have tons of scarves – a drawer full of them. They have always been what made winter something to look forward to, despite the fact that I’ve always been much more of a spring/summer girl.
Then a few years ago I found tissue-thin pashminas. They are great for spring and fall, when the weather is unpredictable, and I like to have a few in bright colors. But when the warm weather starts, off they go – even a tissue-thin pashmina can be too much on a warm summer day.
And then, a few weeks ago, I found it. The “missing link” scarf. A scarf so fabulous that you can wear it with anything, year-round. A scarf that would no doubt go with that outfit I was planning for one of the BlogHer parties, because let’s face it, a scarf like that goes with anything.
The scarf in question is from the Sabina Les for SL collection and you can see it below:
Upon reading this post, my friend Jax will probably say “You and your studs!”
It’s true, I like studs. Not on everything, mind you – but I like statement accessories, and I especially like those that add an edgy touch.
This scarf definitely fits the bill. The print is a mix of nude fishnet texture, black-on-black animal print and of course, those silver-grey studs, all along the border.
The effect is a fabulous rocker-chic vibe, subtle enough to be classy, but edgy enough to help you punch up your outfit, be it a little black dress and ankle boots or jeans and a tank top.
Sabina Les scarves have been featured on Style Observer, Second City Style and Shecky’s, among others. I actually have Jean from SO to thank for finding these fabulous scarves: when I read her post I immediately fell in love with the oblong studded scarf, and I knew I had to have it!
The Animal Stud scarf, like all scarves in the collection, is 100% silk and it’s available in 3 shapes/sizes, ranging in price from $90 to $200. They are available on SabinaLes.com or, if you are in New York, at the New York Shopping Diary store.
