Zenn Foulhoof, Weirdo Extraordinaire

After a much-needed break, I’ve started playing World of Warcraft again. Can’t tell you how long that will last, but for now, I’ll be playing a little bit.

I got rid of my beautiful Zallesta on the Horde side, wiping out 500g in one ill-tought-of moment… but anyways, I made a new toon, the only one I’ve never played… a Rogue.

So my new Rogue is a Night Elf, and I find that leveling goes even faster than I remembered. I figure they did yet another downgrade to the leveling requirement.

It was not long after I was out of the starting area that I ran into that weirdo, Zenn Foulhoof.

To refresh your memory, this little Satyr-type dude offers you a useless gizmo in exchange for killing some animals in the forest, and the tree-hugging hippies … I mean Night Elves … of the village literally 100 feet down the road are very put out by your actions, and require you to give Zenn some fruits of the forest, in this case Foul-Smelling Acorns – to transform him into a rabbit and somehow atone for your actions.

Now I’m used to World of Warcraft stuff being funny and convoluted but COME ON.

If that obnoxious Satyr is such a problem, why not send those level 65 Sentinels to give him a good trashing?

And if killing a few birds, a few spiders and some Nightsabers is that bad, why do you let me kill and skin and eat them all the time?

Anyways, I’m afraid that there are no good answers to these existential questions.

I do celebrate, however, that my meeting of the pointless Satyr Zenn Foulhoof marks my return to Azeroth.
