The movie The Perfect Storm, based on Sebastian Junger's best-selling novel, so called because it was three storms combined into one, creating waves the size of a ten-story building.

... an Italian Luxury Cruise Liner that collided with another ship at sea and sank off Cape Code, MA, five years after her launch in 1951. 1,662 passengers and crew were on board, 52 lives were lost. Since then 14 divers died in the attempt of reaching the ship which is lying at 250 feet in international waters, referred to as the Mount Everest of diving.
The movie Ghost Ship is based on a screenplay and tells the fictional story of a salvage group that tries to claim the ship and bring it to a port..., and as the title suggests, there will be ghosts...

... the luxurious passenger cruise liner hit an iceberg and sank in less than 3 hours. 1,500 people lost their lives. It was Murphy's Law in action (anything that could go wrong did). For example, the iceberg was spotted too late, normally Icebergs did not float that far South and the ship hit it the way it was most vulnerable to her.
